Bali Student Camp 2026 HQ Visit: A Day of Learning,

Impact, and Changemaking

There’s a distinct kind of energy that fills a room when young minds realize their own power. It’s electric, infectious, and entirely unstoppable.

On May 29th, 2026, YOUTHTOPIA Headquarters (HQ) buzzed with exactly this kind of frequency. We proudly opened our doors to a brilliant cohort of final-year university students from Universitas Udayana (Unud), Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha), Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Bali, and Institut Teknologi dan Bisnis (ITB) STIKOM Bali. These soon-to-be graduates were participating in the Bali Student Camp (BSC) 2026, a forward thinking initiative by Persekutuan Kristen antar Universitas (PERKANTAS) designed to bridge the gap between graduation and the professional world by introducing students to sustainability and impact-driven careers. Selected as a key destination to showcase what a purpose-led workplace actually looks like, YOUTHTOPIA offered them far more than a standard field trip. These emerging professionals arrived with burning questions about building meaningful careers, the future of education in Indonesia, environmental action, and their ultimate role in shaping it all.

Here is what happens when the changemaker of tomorrow steps out of the traditional classroom and into a living, breathing ecosystem of change.

Stepping Into the Circle of Youth

The program kicked off with an immersive HQ Tour, designed so that our very workspace tells the story of YOUTHTOPIA’s mission and goals. As we guided the students through the office, the environment itself brought sustainability to life, highlighting the tangible, real-world impact of stakeholders on the island. The tour culminated in a standout moment as participants stepped into a dedicated room featuring powerful artworks of our Circle of Youth (COY), a curated visual gallery designed for every guest to witness the massive, interconnected network of global changemakers they are now inspired to join.

To break the ice and the typical formalities of university life, we ran two highly energetic ice-breaking sessions. By the time the official YOUTHTOPIA session and Q&A rolled around, the barriers were completely gone. Ideas flowed freely over slices of fresh watermelon, and the students were thrilled to receive exclusive merchandise from Mountain Mamas

From Awareness to Action

The output of the day was nothing short of inspiring. Following deep discussions about the origins of Bye Bye Plastic Bags and YOUTHTOPIA, the participants left with a heightened, urgent awareness regarding the devastating impact of single-use plastics.

But it didn’t stop at awareness. Following the introduction of YOUTHTOPIA and the tangible impact of COY, Edo as one of the remarkable students stepped up to share his ongoing sustainability project focused on managing organic waste using maggots for his homeland in Sumba, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia - a perfect example of putting theory into practice and the power of manifestation. By the end of the afternoon, a collective shift had occurred: everyone in the room wanted to step up and become a genuine changemaker.

The Student’s Plea: Reimagining the “Future Classroom”

This immersive experience stood in stark contrast to the traditional education system these students navigate daily. During the YOUTHTOPIA session, we gathered reflections from 11 different students about their vision for the “Future Classroom of Indonesia”. Their insights were a powerful critique and a hopeful blueprint for the future.

Their collective voice highlighted the ongoing challenge of curriculum inconsistency and an urban-centric bias that often leaves students in remote regions behind. Youths are tired of passive, one-way lectures and heavy theoretical frameworks. Instead, they’re demanding a revolution in how we learn:

  • The 40/60 Rule: Students passionately advocated for a vocational framework-even starting in elementary school, where 40% of time is spent on classroom theory and a massive 60% is dedicated to hands-on, practical application.
  • Skill-Matching & Personalization: They envision a flexible, hybrid learning ecosystem powered by AI, tailored to the specific strengths, capabilities, and future skills of each individual student.
  • Real-World Relevance: True education must bridge the gap between academic theory and social reality. They want to dissect current national and global issues, transforming their classrooms into laboratories for practical solutions.
  • Human Connection & Character: Amidst the rise of technological distractions, they crave an education that goes beyond producing “academically smart graduates”. They want to cultivate critical thinking, strong moral character, and deep social empathy through close, meaningful connections with their educators.

A Shared Vision: Building the “Future Classroom of Indonesia”

“The revolution of Indonesian education starts with listening to the youth and ensuring their voices are the ones leading the way.”

The aspirations voiced by the Bali Student Camp participants: craving hands-on, action-oriented learning, perfectly echo the foundation of YOUTHTOPIA’s “Future Classroom of Indonesia” series.

We are always thrilled to host students at our HQ to dive deeper into the world of changemaking. Ultimately, we hope sessions like this inspire both the BSC participants and young learners everywhere to actively drive positive change for our planet. Most importantly, we want to open their eyes to a brilliant reality: working for impact is incredibly fun, and purpose-driven careers are absolutely worth exploring.
